Noel Alejandro: A Fresh Voice in Gay Adult Cinema

Noel is our Post Production Director and he's been an essential part of the team for years. He's an immensely talented young man whose hard work and artistic eye has helped shape XConfessions to what it is today (you can read more about how he became a key player at Lust Films here!) But that's not all – Noel is also an accomplished film maker in his own right, making stunning gay adult films as Noel Alejandro. And he has just released his new film: Roomies, a film about sex when it happens between people who together, in all it's complicated glory.

Feeling that gay adult films often lacked deeper artistic ambitions, Noel started creating films according to his own vision. His previous films include the critically acclaimed Eloi & Biel , Bad Medicine, and Hairy. Today, he still feels that the world of gay erotic films hasn't evolved much. "It's a mystery to me. There's directors like Travis Mathews and Antoni Da Silva, but in general people don't really achieve taking the next step – which is doing explicit films! To me, that's awkward and interesting at the same time, that no one is doing it by now…So that's why I decided to keep making my own films."

Noel's films explore the beauty of sex, but don't shy away from all the aspects and phases of sexuality. Noel doesn't want to focus solely on orgasmic ecstasy, but to paint a fuller picture showing the complexity of human intimacy. He says "with my cinematography, I want to show all the different phases of sex and people, and not just the good sides of sex. Sex can make you feel sad, make you feel different, so I don't only want to say sex is just amazing – I want to show sex as beautiful, but I want to show those other sides beautifully too."
