Illustrating XConfessions: Giuseppe Palmisano

This interview is part of the collaborators section in XConfessions

We’re back with the “Illustrating XConfessions” series!

Our erotic artwork gallery is looking better than ever. It already counts on 54 brilliant artists, and it’s becoming a beautiful online exhibition of erotic photos and illustrations. The coolest part? They are all combined with the erotic stories that you submit to the website. Looking good!

Today’s interview is with Giuseppe Palmisano, this crazy guy I read about in an artistic magazine a few months ago and immediately fell in love with. He makes this blend between surrealism and photography, transforming female bodies into lamps (?) os pillows (!) and placing them into casual scenarios and situations – generally causing that “wait, what?” effect. Reading about him, I learned that his background was in theater which made a lot of sense – and his work even more interesting. He describes his work as “eroticism of the absurd”.

Get to know him:

➢ Tell us a bit about how and when you first started making art.

I think all started when i was a child. I start whit theatre, I became an actor and then I bought a camera. Different medium, same heart.

➢ If you would describe yourself in one image, what would that be?
Someone looking his past in a mirror, but in a modern mirror.

➢ How did erotica become a subject to your work?
I think I’m exploring the intimacy without involving the subject. It’s like a voyeuristic challenge because you’re present in the scene but nobody knows, and there’s a lot of silence, and silence is sexy, and so…

➢ What inspires you the most, artistically and sexually?
I’m truly inspired when I can play with all around me. I think it’s special with we, humans. Humans can play with all, we can make jokes. Things can be real but they can also only exist in our minds. This kind of freedom is very sexy and very inspiring for me.

➢ Did you ever find a good visual representation of an orgasm? If so, can you share it with us?
I’m exploring the pleasure in a way that represent a moment before orgasm. I think it’s important to express less, in porn for example. I think a good visual representation of an orgasm would be to represent a man or a woman in their room thinking about an orgasm.
