The Good Girl by Erika Lust
The Good Girl was not only Erika Lust’s first attempt at indie adult cinema, but her big debut as she paved the way for modern erotic films made from the female gaze. After its release, The Good Girl was downloaded over two million times in a couple months and won Best Short Film at the International Erotic Film Festival in Barcelona in 2005. The erotic short film is a remake of the “pizza guy” trope, and is about Alex, a beautiful and confident businesswoman who is single and enjoys sex but struggles to act on her sexual fantasies. After she has a conversation with a friend who almost annoyingly overshares her own sexual pursuits, Alex decides to stop living through her friend’s sex life and do something a “good girl” wouldn’t typically do.
