Who is Jorge Amado?
Musician, PhD researcher, psychoanalysis scholar, writer, and professor — Jorge Amado is kind of renaissance man. He was born in Caracas, Venezuela, he came to porn universe out of genuine curiosity: a desire to explore his own sexuality and push against the boundaries of what erotic film is allowed to be.
For Jorge, porn performing isn’t a departure from his intellectual life, he says it’s an extension of it. The same mind that digs into psychoanalysis and teaches in academic spaces is the one showing up on set, fully present, fully himself. That’s rare, and it shows.
In 2016, he won the Premio Nacional de Poesía in Venezuelam which tells you something about how Jorge moves through the world. There’s a poet’s sensibility we can guess. Sexuality, for him, is a subject worth investigating with the same rigor and openness.
What drives him is the belief that porn can be something more — more honest, more human, more complex. The kind of adult cinema that doesn’t ask you to take off you brain when you take off your clothes.
