Based on Dancing on My Own a confession by hexed.in.heelzz
In Dancing on My Own, Tula Vida moves alone through a mirrored space, wrapping herself around the pole with strength, precision, and control. What begins as a private dance becomes something stranger and more intimate when her reflection stops feeling like a reflection at all. In the glass, another presence appears. Familiar, magnetic, impossible to ignore.
As the room multiplies her image, self-desire gives way to something more physical. Julia Roca arrives like a reflection stepped out of fantasy and into flesh, and the encounter between them turns the mirrored space into a world of doubles, recognition, and release. What starts in solitude opens into a sex scene charged with curiosity, tension, and the thrill of meeting your own desire face to face.
Directed by Thais Català, Dancing on My Own is an erotic, mirror-soaked fantasy about pole dance and the pleasure of being seduced by what you see in yourself. Sensual, stylish, and dreamlike, it explores reflection, performance, and self-obsession through a cinematic encounter between two women drawn together by movement, hunger, and the pull of the double.

I love how mysterious and sexy this film feels, and the way Thais turns reflection, movement, and fantasy into something so sensual. It’s hypnotic, intimate, and visually striking! I also love seeing pole dance centered like this. Its history is deeply connected to sex workers, whose labor and creativity helped shape it into the powerful art form it is today. That legacy deserves to be seen, acknowledged, and celebrated.
