A drag king workshop that deconstructs masculinity.
Based on New Kings on the Block a confession by bruce
Who gets to desire? Who gets to exist, love and feel pleasure — and on whose terms?
These are the questions that queer spaces have always asked. And the ones that drag king workshops were built to answer.
Drag Kings Workshop begins exactly there — in a safe space created specifically for queer, trans, and non-binary AFAB people, where the white male gaze that has always prescribed who desire belongs to gets deconstructed, piece by piece, and reclaimed entirely. Participants explore identity, power and pleasure through creative drag king performances — not as performance for others, but as a deeply personal process shared with people who understand the same struggles and the transformative potential of sexual wellness on your own terms.
What emerges is something rarer than most adult cinema ever achieves — genuine intimacy born from solidarity. A crack in the norm. The particular, electric power of coming together and celebrating existence without apology, without prejudices.
Collaborating with Ken Pollet was a fantastic experience, and my team and I learned a lot about questioning gender and masculinity.
