Merlot is a musician and model living in NYC, known for their soulful, dance-ready music. They came up through the queer nightlife scene in NYC, where they draw inspiration from for their music. Music has always been an integral part of their life - they have made music since childhood. They studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston before making New York home.

2: Where are you from?
(unfortunately) Gainesville, FL. But I got my ‘start’ in New York City

3: Describe your personality in 3 words:
Crazy, Sexy, Cool

4. What makes you feel sexy?
Being told in front of other people. I need that public validation to know it’s real!

5: What's the best concert you've ever been to (and why)?
James Blake in Boston in 2014. He used so much technology and effects on his voice that I had never seen done live before and it honestly changed me and made me want to become a better musician.

6: What's your favorite part of your body?
My lips. I used to get made fun of for how big they were but now people are paying thousands of dollars to have the lips I was born with.

7: What's your favorite time to listen to music?
Any time that when I’m mid-transportation. Music just hits different when I’m on the train or on a flight.

8: How do you like to relax and unwind?
I turn off my brain and open up TikTok

10: How do you get inspired?
I listen to music! Music from other artists that I admire will always kick my ass into gear and make me hungry to write music that moves me!

1: Your go-to song to get in the mood / get turned on?
“All Night” by Bree Runway always make me feel so sensual & totally gets me in the mood.


2: A song you have a fun or crazy sex story about?

This might not be entirely that sexy, but I remember hooking up with this guy and attempting to teach him how to twerk to Rihanna’s “Watch n’ Learn”. It has been a memory that definitely stuck with me.

3: A song that always makes you feel sexy?
“Magnets” by Disclosure & Lorde always makes me feel sexy and naughty haha.


4: A song that you never get tired of listening to?

I could listen to “You’re The One” by Kaytranada every single day, and to be honest, I probably have for at least the last year!


5: A song that reminds you of a lover?
Never been a relationship (happily so) so none !


6: A song that helps you relax?

“Get On Your Knees” by Ari & Nicki Minaj always makes me super at-ease and calm!


7: Last song you played for someone?

I’m constantly showing people Doja Cat songs they might’ve missed, so probably “Rules”.


8: The song that best defines you?
“The First Taste” by Fiona Apple because usually I’m way too afraid to make the first move and always need someone to spell it out for me.


9: A song from a concert you loved?
Hmm, when I saw James Blake live and he sang “Retrograde”, it wasn’t inherently sexy at all, but the production and performance made me become obsessed with him.


10: A first date song?
Trick question, there are none !
