Who is Peaches?
Peaches is an iconic musician, producer, director, and performance artist whose career has been shaking culture, sex, and power structures for over two decades. She burst onto the scene in 2000 with The Teaches of Peaches, an explosive debut that announced a new kind of pop provocateur: sexually fearless, politically sharp, and impossible to ignore.
Since then, Peaches has released four more boundary-pushing albums, collaborated with artists ranging from Iggy Pop and Daft Punk to Christina Aguilera and Yoko Ono, and seen her music land in defining cultural moments like Lost in Translation and The Handmaid’s Tale. Her influence reaches far beyond music; her work is studied at universities worldwide, and she has been awarded the prestigious Polaris Heritage Prize for her lasting impact. Peaches’ creative universe extends into film, theatre, and visual art.
She has directed more than 20 music videos, co-curated a photographic book documenting her life, created immersive installations, and written the electro-rock opera Peaches Does Herself, which toured internationally and was adapted into a feature film screened at over 70 festivals. She has also starred in acclaimed documentaries about her life and work, performed lead roles in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo and Brecht’s The Seven Deadly Sins, and continues to tour her celebrated one-woman show, Peaches Christ Superstar.
In 2026, Peaches returns with her first album in over a decade, No Lube So Rude. The record is both a provocation and a rallying cry. “When the world is friction, lube isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity,” Peaches says. “It’s how you turn pressure into pleasure, into power, into pride.” The album speaks directly to resistance, visibility, and refusing to be silenced in a world that constantly demands conformity.
