New Series on Lust Cinema: An Interview with Performer Gia Green

Drum roll, please…Welcome performer Gia Green onto the Lust Zine! I'm so happy to announce my newest five-part porn for women series on Lust Cinema, Three, starring Gia, Sylvan and Bunnie Bennett. For the character of Ingrid, someone who's suffered love and loss, yet maintains a charismatic and infectious energy, Gia could not have been more perfect. When I think about Three, I think about one of the most staggering, heartfelt experiences I ever lived in my life. It wasn’t my first time shooting an adult film for Erika Lust. However, Three was a whole different adventure and a whole different source of empowerment. Plus, this time I was directed by Erika herself!

First time I read the script, it was like I was binge watching the whole series before my eyes. I had some sort of imprinting with Ingrid’s character. I was attracted to her sarcasm, her deep love, her charm. Plus, everything she goes through and feels during Three resonated so much with what I was feeling at that moment in my life. I couldn’t see myself playing any other role in this series, and I’ve probably never been so determined to get one!

Ingrid is an Italian dancer and choreographer who’s currently working on a music video. She’s the type who keeps herself busy working and barely keeps up with all her dates and sex affairs so she doesn’t think about the pain that makes her feel stuck in her past. At the end of the summer, she goes to the countryside to disconnect from work, but when Andrea (Bunnie Bennett) and David (Sylvan) appear, her life takes an unexpected twist. Ingrid is the narrator of Three, an emotional story about the freedom, the passion, and the challenges of loving two people at the same time. What Ingrid, Andrea, and David live through together is more than just a threesome. They’re here to prove that, despite the contradictory feelings and drama that may come with it, (especially if it’s your first time jumping into it) non-monogamous relationships can definitely be more than just a utopian fantasy.

The entire film was shot in an insanely beautiful, huge country house around Barcelona, where both performers and crew stayed for eight days in what felt halfway between a residency and a summer camp. My call for make up was at around 9 am every morning. I would wake up one hour before, practice yoga, look at the plan of the day, grab my script, and go downstairs to have breakfast (Yazel y Michell took care of the catering and spoiled us with delicious meals and snacks every day).

I would start my working day listening to Jorja Smith and Mariah Carey while laughing like crazy with Yadro at the makeup station. Right after that, our lovely stylist Isobel was waiting for me in a big room full of clothes. In all of this, the Talent Manager (the person in charge of ensuring the performers are feeling at their best and have everything they need) was always right there making sure we, the performers, were prepped on time to start shooting with no delays.

I’ve always felt like I was working in a highly comfy and friendly environment, where everyone clearly loves what they’re doing and are determined to do it as best as they can. Each and every person on the set of Three made me learn something new. It was so inspiring to see Erika’s badass crew girls directing the photography (Thais and Nonna), the light design (Meritxell), and the setting (Yulia).

From getting my period exactly on the first day of shooting (and even included it in my masturbation scene!), to jump all naked into an icy pool (the series is set in the summer but we shot it in late October!) and with four sex scenes to go through (one solo, two partnered, and three-way sex), Three really put me to the test.

The first night of shooting we shot the sex scene between Ingrid and Andrea in a tiny room full of candles (120 of them, to be precise). I’ve never had a 30 minute sex conversation like the one I had with Bunnie before our scene. We reviewed everything from head to toe, as well as agreed on safe words or signals in case one of us didn’t feel OK for any reason. Once the sex scene was over, we looked at each other and realised that the greatest sexual enjoyment comes from the awareness of each others’ desires. In a few words: communication is the sexiest part of sex.

There was another night I spent in the garden with Sylvan where we casually started talking about the sex scene we would have the next day and again, discussed each others’ boundaries and most pleasing touches. Just talking about what you like and dislike with someone you’re going to have sex with is so liberating and pleasurable in and of itself! That’s what makes you feel safe and comfortable to enjoy sex fully and honestly, without feeling forced to do anything you don’t really like and most of all, without hurting one another.

And then, of course, there was Erika. Before my solo scene, I asked her: “What if I don’t wear the menstrual sponge but we show my period blood while I masturbate? I’d be comfortable with that.” She told me she would have to think about it and the day after, she took me aside and told me, “Let’s do it! If you’re still OK with that”. AH, what a special moment it was. It was great to feel that we could trust each other in making it, and showing my period to the camera was so fucking powerful!

Erika is a huge inspiration for both my personal and professional life. I often found myself being literally hypnotised looking at her managing it all. She’s deliciously crazy and extremely professional at the same time, taking care of every single detail while making everybody feel completely at ease. She always brings good vibes wherever she goes! It was insane to see her running at us after a sex scene and screaming, “I loved it! I’m a fan!!”. Oh gosh, I am a fan.

But there are many other people with whom I had the privilege to work and have fun on this, for whom I feel only gratitude still today; Jahel, Bex, Marina, Pat, Inés, Laura, Alberto, Pablo, Sabela, Charlie… you all made this love journey in the (not so) hot Mediterranean summer an unforgettable one.

And last but not least, Bunnie and Sylvan; from the video calls to the rehearsals to the set, I loved talking, dancing, having sex with you, being your unicorn, and making you fall in love with me. You have a place in my heart forever. Thank you for contributing to making Three such an exciting ride.
