It's been pouring for two months in London. I am so sick of being wet! And not in the sexual sense… I hate the tube, so I usually walk home but arrive drenched. Last week I dreamed I got home, not soaked by the rain, with my hair in perfect waves, high heels, luxury stockings, and underneath the trenchcoat that expensive lingerie I saw online and dared to buy. My boyfriend sees me, and his jaw drops to the ground; I dance for him while I undress, and then we have the best sex of this wet London autumn.

Who said the rain can’t be sexy? Autumn in the UK: this means rain every day, all day, all night. Heidi refuses to take the London Tube– at this hour, it’s packed and chaotic. Instead, she walks home from work and, as always, arrives drenched in rain, her hair wet and her makeup leaking. A sexual buzzkill.
But not today. Under her classy trench coat, all Heidi is wearing is sexy blue lingerie. She, herself, feels sexy – and ready to seduce her man as soon as she enters the door…
In this new XConfessions movie, directed by Erika Lust herself, plunge into the unexpected eroticism of a rainy day. This was the core of Erika’s artistic vision - to make sexy something we don’t necessarily see as such: bad weather. Working with Heidi and Sylvan, who star in the film as a married British couple, was an easy decision: they’d been hoping to work together, and their chemistry is perfect for the cozy and comfortable condition of their characters’ bond. Heidi is a modern-day rain goddess: a working woman who returns home from work in the rain - to her loving husband as he waits for her while reading.
You might think there’s nothing less sexy than arriving home drenched in rain - and Heidi would tend to agree. But part of her is turned on by the whole thing - if only she was this wet, but sexually… And the rain is sensual - the beauty of raindrops slowly cascading down a window, the regular, light sound of the rainfall and the damp and earthy smell that sometimes might be quite pleasant. As a matter of fact, there is an exact word for the enjoyment and fascination some people might feel for the rain: pluviophilia.
Pluvophilia describes just this - love for the rain, the ability to find within it a certain joy and peace of mind. It’s the pleasure one gets from the rain- from reveling in the multisensory experience of the sound of the rainfall, the smell of the soil, or the touch of the drops, to the calm feelings of canceling all your plans outside to stay in to watch a movie or cozily finish a puzzle. For some - the love of the rain comes from having many rain-associated happy memories.
