TWERK. An ode to pelvic liberation and booty-shaking that breaks taboos around female anal sex. The XConfessions original explicit short film is here to celebrate twerking as self-enjoyment beyond the heteronormative hypersexualization of women's bodies.

A regular rehearsal day turns into a sudden explosion of pelvic liberation, booty shaking, and energetic dance. As the music penetrates further into their bones, we enter the imagination of one of the dancers as she lets go of all taboos and opens herself up to the pleasure of female anal sex.

A group of women reclaims their bodies as territory for their own pleasure, with their own freedom to explore and enjoy it. Extremely talented, real twerk dancers enjoy the connection with themselves to the rhythm of the music. I wanted to explore the pleasure women feel with anal sex beyond the limitations and taboos of heteronormativity. Women dancing and bouncing their booties doesn't mean they are asking to be touched; 'TWERK.' celebrates twerking as self-enjoyment, as it taps the benefits of a natural pelvis movement that has become hypersexualized by the objectifying male gaze.

Through booty dance and twerk as a liberating dance, we celebrate other ways to access pleasure through other sweetest spots, hoping to encourage all women to know and love themselves better through their natural body expression.

Originated among cis and trans-Black females in New Orleans in the mid-90s, twerking is a sophisticated aesthetic and embodied intellectual practice originally recognized as “bounce” (a sub-genre of hip-hop culture and music). Twerking is all about shaking the fleshy excess of one's ass around in a circle, up and down to the beat, in alternating patterns from left to right using only one's butt cheek.
