It’s the 50th anniversary of World Earth Day today, and so to honour this day I’d like to explore some eco-friendly, planet-friendly, naughty-but-nice sex additions.
We already pay close attention to the food we consume and the products we put on our body, so why not use similar care when it comes to selecting a sex product?
Check out just some of my recommendations below and give the earth a break whilst still getting off ?
Condoms are the bane of eco-friendly sex but they are a necessity for a lot of people. When buying an eco friendly condom you should look for ones that avoid harmful chemicals and wasteful packaging.
Ultra Thin Condoms by Sustain fit the bill, they are nitrosamine free, paraben free, and made with natural latex. Plus they’re fair trade – no child labour, fair wages, and free education & health care for the community they source their rubber from.
If that wasn’t enough the thinner latex on this condom also provides a heightened sexual experience with no compromise in safety.
Winner of the 2015 Best Eco-Friendly Sex Toy, Leaf is an environmentally friendly sex toy that comes in four different unique designs. All of the Leaf+ Vibrators are made using phthalate-free, nontoxic materials and the highest grade silicone.
They are powerful, yet fairly quiet vibrators and are rechargeable and waterproof. Intense incremental speed control allows you to set the speed to your own personal preference.
Get off on saving the planet with this futuristic Solar Bullet vibrator. Eight hours of exposure to sunshine provides one hour of blissful two-speed vibration against your clit, balls, perineum… they’ll leave that part up to you ?
This is a certified organic, water-based lubricant made with aloe vera and infused with lemon and vanilla for a light flavour.
In 2018, Almost Naked became the first carbon neutral personal lubricant. For every bottle of Almost Naked purchased, Good Clean Love will donate to a project that reduces greenhouse gases by an amount equivalent to that bottle’s carbon footprint.
You can be kinky and sustainable with this handmade, upcycled, vegan rubber flogger with an easy-to-grasp wooden handle. The 18 inch rubber tails offer a range of sensations and the wooden handles are sourced from tree branch trimmings… Need I say any more?
Broke Boutique is a UK based, ethically sound, underground, fashion label redesigning and reincarnating discarded materials. The Turan harness is made from reclaimed rubber, its beautifully simple and can be worn on it’s own or as part of an outfit.
Introducing the world’s first biodegradable vibrator. Made of BioFeel, a bioplastic or polymer compound mixed with cornstarch, the vibrator is biodegradable and will biodegrade within 47-90 days in a commercial composting facility.
The product is nonporous, making it completely safe and clean for use in the body. The Gaia line takes away the guilt of ecological damage caused to the environment through your pursuit of pleasure.
And if that wasn’t enough, it’s a very affordable option for a vibrator.
Sex should of course be fun, but we should also think about the bigger picture – not just with our bodies but our planet too. And with all these sexy ways to treat yourself and the planet, how else could you possibly be celebrating Earth Day?
