What is sex magick?

“I define sex magick as working with sexual energy and orgasms as a way to raise energy for a desired intention,” says Gabriela Herstik, author of Inner Witch: A Modern Guide to the Ancient Craft and Bewitching the Elements: A Guide to Empowering Yourself Through Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. Your orgasm is energy. Spell work is directing energy towards an intention. Sex magick is directing orgasmic energy towards that intention. Most often, people use orgasms to cast a spell. Since not everyone can have an orgasm, it’s okay to direct built up sex energy towards a goal.

What can my goal be?

Well, what do you want? Your goal can be a raise, a book deal, or marriage. While money is sexy, not everyone can cum from thinking about their bank account rising. While you can use sex magick for banishing purposes, say to get rid of the haters or a bad habit, it tends to work much better for productive purposes. Plus, the best revenge is living well, and frankly you’re not ready to go anywhere near hexing yet, so please stick to sex magick for attracting a new job or something of the sorts. To do so, you need to work on your visualization. Visualization skills are the core of most magical practices, sexy or otherwise. Sollée, author of Witches, Sluts, Feminists: Conjuring the Sex Positive. Also, some witches consider doing sex magick with a partner without them knowing unethical.

So, to review: Pick an intention. Practice visualization. Masturbate with your hand or a sex toy. When you cum, think of your intention. If that goes well, pick a partner you trust who won’t make fun of you. “I don’t suggest doing sex magick with a random partner,” Herstik says. “It’s almost like having a threesome with a combined higher power.” If you find a partner who you trust, pick a shared goal, and visualize it together.
