Maria Freytsis

Maria Freytsis, CNM, MPH is an NYC-based midwife who has had the honor and joy of providing healthcare to women during some of the most important transitions of their lives such as adolescence, pregnancy, birth, and menopause for the last 20+ years. She immigrated to the US from Russia as a child and is passionate about issues of social justice, particularly those related to care of vulnerable populations, as well as women’s health and sexuality. She is also a technologist and public health practitioner with broad experience in maternity care in low resource settings, primarily in Latin America and Asia, and the use of technology to improve the quality of healthcare.
