A Guide to Everything You Need to Know About Cumshots

‘I want you to cum on my face’ – eight words everybody wants to hear in the bedroom? A cumshot is the depiction of human ejaculation, onto another person, especially onto another persons face. The popularity in cumshots which are also referred to as facials, is often attributed to porn. Whilst there is probably a lot of truth to this statement, there are many other possible explanations for the rise of popularity of facials that make just as much sense, one of which could be – people of all genders and sexualities seem to enjoy them. One thing is for sure, porn certainly did not invent cumshots. Whatever the reason, it is an undeniable fact that facials seem to be a common theme on the screens, but are they really all that popular in your bedrooms at home? Join me as I dive deeper into the topic of facials. I am going to try to answer questions like are cumshots safe? Are they degrading for the receiving person? What to do when semen gets in your eyes and are facials really good for your skin?

What do we really think about cumshots?

Sexual preferences are a deeply private matter and the development of the sexual self is a complicated process. I wanted to kick off my cumshot research which a little self-made study to find out what you guys think about facials. I polled my lovely Instagram followers about their honest and anonymous opinions on cumshots. I wanted to find out if penis owners are really so much into ejaculating on women’s faces as we think and what do receivers, especially women, really think about them? Does the constant portraying of cumshots in porn really reflect reality or does it only create strange expectations in the bedroom?

Here are some of the replies I have received from you:

“Intimate, exciting, incredibly hot. A way to take in all of your partners sensual bliss” (female)

“Kinda gross.” (male)

“If all participants enjoy it, it’s a major turn on!” (male)

“Love cum all over my face and tits. Sexually arouses me, wanting for more” (female)

“Don’t feel comfortable about it. A lot of my partners consider cum disgusting” (male)

“It’s seen as so outrageous that it makes it a turn on for me + it’s good for your skin” (female)

“The way they are shown in porn is utterly disgusting and demeaning to women” (male)

“They are like a little piece of temporary art” (female)

“Fun, just not in your eye!” (female)

Thanks to everyone who participated. I found your answers incredibly interesting to read! One thing I can say after this little poll is that I am pretty positive that it is not true that all women find cumshots degrading and not all men love them. I’ve received both a lot of positive responses from women and negative ones from men. I’d also like to share my own opinion about this topic with you. As you might have noticed if you are a fan of my movies, I tend not to shoot cumshots. But do I think that cumshots are categorically degrading? Absolutely not. I do not find this particular sexual act bad in any way as long as it happens between two consenting adults. What I don’t like, as an adult film director, is that the money shot as we call it in the industry, almost always signals the end of sex in a lot of porn which goes against what I am trying to bring across in my porn for women. To me, it is important to show that sex is not automatically over when one of the people involved, mostly men, ejaculate.

You can not cum on somebody’s face without asking first.

This point is not up for debate. Simply ejaculating on somebodies face without asking for permission is a disgusting thing to do. For the receiving end, the pleasure in cumshots is very closely connected to psychological factors. Only if you have an honest chat beforehand you can both determine where your preferences lay to make sure you tap into the right spot of the receivers and the givers psychology to make a cumshot a pleasurable experience for both of you.

Sexpert and potcast host Dan Savage said in a famous quote: “Facials are degrading — and that’s why they’re so hot.” What he means by this is, the question we need to ask ourselves when discussing facials is not ‘Is this a degrading act?’, but rather ‘degrading or not, does everybody involved enjoy it? If you enjoy getting a facial, verbalise it! A simple ‘I want you to cum on my face’ can avoid confusion and is super hot to hear for your partner. If you do not enjoy semen on your face or any other parts of your body – that is absolutely normal and fine and you are under no obligation to bear with it just to make your partner happy. If your partner(s) try to make you feel that way by saying things like ‘but all my previous sex partners really enjoyed it’ or ‘cmon don’t be so prude’ I have only one advice for you – DUMP THEM!

Are cumshots safe?

Important question!! On my research on cumshots I came across a great article in Metro. The article pointed out that one of the reasons cumshots became so popular in the 70s and 80s was the widespread fear of Aids. Metro writes ‘cum on me, not in me was a popular sex education slogan right in to the 1980’s. In a time where birth control and safer sex methods were not as accessible as they are today, cumshots were thought of a way to avoid STDs and unwanted pregnancies.’ It is true that ejaculating on a partner’s face rather than inside their body can make STD transmission less likely if no vaginal or anal intercourse has taken place beforehand. But lets face is (pun intended), that is rarely the case.

One possible health risk of facials is, quite obviously, the risk of getting semen in your eyes. Unpleasant experience, but not a reason to panic! To avoid this situation I would recommend to keep your eyes closed if you are the receiving part of the equation. And for the ejaculator – do not aim at your partners eyes. I know it’s not always easy to aim precisely, but at least you don’t have to do it intentionally. Another tip is, always keep some tissues and water next to your bed. In case you do end up with semen in your eye, act immediately and try to rinse it out carefully. Saline solution can relive the pain! Last but not least, I am not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but bacteria and viruses in bodily fluids like sperm can pass through the membrane of your eyeballs (Yuk, I know). It is not a high risk activity, but it is possible so if you want to make absolutely sure, you might want to get tested for STIs if your eye’s membrane came in contact with semen.

Is semen bad for your skin?

Skin care is a very popular and important topic that is being widely discussed in the media, by social media influencers and health and beauty experts. It makes sense that people asked themselves, is semen good or bad for my skin?

Well, here is what I found out:
While it is true that the protein contained in semen is theoretically good for your skin, there’s not enough protein in semen to provide any benefits for your skin (Cosmopolitan, 2017). So, the myth of acne-curing cumshots is afterall just that – a myth.
