What is a Fetish?
A sexual or erotic fetish can be defined as a sexual fixation on an object or body part. The object of the desire is called the fetish, and the person with the fetish is called a fetishist.

Far from being a reason to be ashamed, fetishes are a healthy way to get out of the routine and enjoy a more fulfilling sexuality.

Fetishism is a practice that can have numerous advantages and benefits over sex, like getting to know yourself, discovering a new form of stimulation, and in general, enjoying sex more. Likewise, It can help you build trust in your relationship and discover new kinks.

A survey at Harvard Sex Week reveals that fetishes are much more common than we think. Nearly half of those surveyed say they either have a sexual fetish or believe they have a sexual fetish, and more than 50 percent have told a partner about a fetish they find interesting.

Key Fetish Findings:

When asked about attitudes toward fetishes, 22% said "yes, please," and another 40% said, "I'm intrigued." Only 18% thought fetishes were "kinda weird."

43% said they either have or believe they have a fetish

45% said that a partner had expressed interest in a specific fetish

53% have told a partner about a fetish they are interested in.

When compared side-by-side with a list of existing fetishes, humiliation and power dynamics emerged as most attractive to the students.

Other Survey Findings:

More than 80% said they were confident or somewhat confident with their sexual abilities.
Individuals favoring a submissive role outnumbered those preferring a dominant role.

40% have tried anal sex before; approximately 24% had participated in an orgy or threesome

46% and 37% have engaged in BDSM and role/fantasy play, respectively

Two of the biggest takeaways cited by class participants were that they shouldn't be quick to judge others based on their sexual preferences, and no matter what, consent is most important. "If it's not hurting anyone, then it's ok," added a student.

You must express your sexual desires; it is one of the healthiest things you can do for your sexual life: repressed fetishes can affect people and relationships.

Do you know which are the most searched fetishes on the internet?
Here we will navigate through some of them. Do you practice any?

Foot Fetish

Foot fetishism (podophilia) is an erotic practice in which all sexual desire is concentrated on the idolatry of another person's feet.
In other words, feet, toes, and ankles turn you on.
Lovers of foot fetishism see the foot as another source of pleasure.
It is the most common Fetish among millennials; most young people agree that it turns them on to see, touch, lick, and even smell them.
This particular preference for feet can vary from person to person.

Fur Fetish

Fur Fetish (Doraphilia) People with doraphilia are sexually aroused by the feeling of fur on their skin, looking at other people wearing fur, or by people dressed in animal costumes (bears, tigers, dogs, cats…). While some people like to be intimate while dressed in animal costumes, others find it arousing to masturbate with fur.

The most famous case of doraphilia comes from the 1870 semi-autobiographical novel Venus in Furs by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, in which a man becomes enthralled by a dominant woman who loves to wear fur.

Spit Fetish

A spitting fetish is someone who gets turned on by spit and is usually associated with BDSM (bondage, discipline, sadism, and masochism). The person spitting is generally the dominant, and the person being spat on is the submissive.
With every kink and fetish, there are levels to it. Some may use spit for lubrication and masturbation, while others may like it when you spit in their mouths.

Armpit Fetish

The armpit fetish, or Maschalagnia, is especially desired by people with hairy armpits with natural odors. For many, the spicier the scent, the better. The act can be a combination of sniffing, licking, kissing, or armpit sex. Having sex without lubrication with a hairy armpit is considered the most desirable and is called axilism. Maschalagnia is a relatively common fetish, and many websites are dedicated to the Fetish.

Voyeurism

According to Merriam Webster dictionary, a voyeur is someone who obtains sexual gratification from observing unsuspecting individuals who are partly undressed, naked, or engaged in sexual acts.

Voyeurism is pleasure through the eyes, but how can we define it?

The word voyeur comes from French and translates as "the one who sees." It is closely related to the act of looking and implies observing other people getting arousal through it.

Voyeurism consists of receiving sexual stimulation through sight and looking at an unsuspecting person while undressing or naked; this can lead to a sexual practice such as masturbation or recording the scene.

But who doesn't like to watch someone else having sex?

Did you know about these fetishes? Would you dare to tell us about your fetish?
